I am a licensed clinician working in private practice in New York City. I am a Certified Imago Couples Therapist, a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, a Certified EMDR Therapist, and an IFS (Internal Family Systems) Practitioner. I am a current member of the NASW Addictions Committee. I have given lectures at the Alcoholism Council of NY, Annual NASW- NYC Addictions Institute, The Meadows Lecture Series, and an Adjunct Lecturer on Eating Disorders at the Post Masters Certificate Program in the Clinical Approaches to Addictions at NYU Silver School of Social Work.
I bring over 35 years of clinical expertise in training, teaching, and working in the fields of substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, and couples therapy. I earned my MSW from Adelphi in 1980 and have extensive post graduate training in couples therapy, trauma based interventions, addiction, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and mindfulness techniques.
I am a relational, interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with individuals to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to achieving.
